Combining Mindfulness and Self-Compassion Based Talk Therapy with Heart Rate Variability and Coherent Breathing Techniques
In addition to traditional talk therapy, I will provide you with biofeedback charts that will reflect your heart rate variability (HRV) during our session as seen below. I will teach you how to read these charts to help indicate where in our session you had irregular breathing or HRV.
We have the option to record our therapy session, locally on an offline audio device. This file will be made available for you to explore what topics had your heartbeat and breath out of coherence. This is best done on your own after the session has ended, however we can always explore them together as an extended session. This is the most efficient and truest path toward your physiological, mental, and emotional wellbeing.
Heart Rate Variability (HRV) is the natural variation in the time intervals between heartbeats, reflecting the body's ability to self-regulate and adapt to stress. I match this with your breathing on a chart to show when your body dis-regulates.
Coherent Breathing involves consciously regulating your breath at a specific rate to achieve a state of coherence between the heart, mind, and body. By breathing at a moderate pace, this practice aims to synchronize the heart's rhythm and promote reduced stress, increased mental clarity, improved emotional well-being, and enhanced physiological resilience. This is directly tied to your HRV.
Life Coaching guides you to find your best ways to organize and structure your life emotionally and practically. We will practice mindfulness skills through meditation and self-compassion, aiming to develop resilience, emotional well-being, and self-awareness.
As your holistic health coach, I’ll combine cutting-edge techniques to enhance your health and happiness with my understanding of heart rate variability techniques from HeartMath+, and CBT talk therapy.
